HAZELDELL CARE HOME

Hazeldell is a residential care home situated in one and a half acres of established grounds on the outskirts on Ipswich. The main building is a 3-storey Victorian villa with a purpose-built extension providing additional accommodation and living areas.
HomeSmiths were tasked with modernising and updating the ground floor to add more communal areas for residents to socialise and meet with friends and family. The project focussed on designing a homely interior for several areas including; reception, music café, courtyard lounge, music lounge, salon and activities café. HomeSmiths specified Shackletons furniture throughout this project.
The courtyard lounge was designed for residents with dementia and complex needs. The lounge has a retro theme inspired by Jacqui’s childhood memories of Sanderson fabrics. For this room, HomeSmiths specified Shackleton’s Saluzzo and Reminiscence chairs and the Lubeck lamp table which matched the brief perfectly. Accessories for this space were sourced from charity shops along with selected pieces of reconditioned furniture.
